Commenting on the impending re-opening, David Murray, Managing Director of the Mercantile Group said
“It’s a great pleasure to announce the relaunch of The Mercantile Hotel, Bar and Restaurant on Dame Street in Dublin. It has been five years since we closed the hotel for renovations, so we are very excited to be opening its doors in May. We have significantly increased the number of hotel bedrooms by 275%, in addition to adding a new rear extension and an additional floor, which will enhance our guest’s experience. The reopening of the hotel creates 80 jobs for the hospitality sector, resulting in a boost to the local economy.”
“Throughout the construction and refurbishment process it was very important to us that it held its unique Georgian and Dublin charm, while bringing a new modern feel and style that local and international guests will very much appreciate. It will ensure that a well-loved landmark, which celebrates its 190 years this year, is preserved for generations to come. Our team and our partners have worked extremely hard, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming guests to experience and stay in the hotel in the heart of Dublin when we officially reopen our doors in May.”
