The announcement coincides with BWG Foodservice winning the National Foodservice Supplier of The Year award for the second successive year at the Catex 2025 Hospitality Exhibition at the RDS this week.

BWG Foodservice, one of Ireland’s leading foodservice operators, has continued its exceptional growth trajectory with sales projected to reach a quarter of a billion euro (€250 million) in 2025.

BWG Foods registered sales of €219 million in 2024, marking an 8 per cent increase on 2023 and against the backdrop of ongoing pressures across the food and hospitality industry. The strong growth has been driven by the continued expansion of BWG Foodservice’s nationwide reach where it attracted double digit growth in customer numbers and secured a number of significant supply contracts.

The business’ current pipeline suggests it is on track to hit the €250 million sales milestone in 2025, which will mean it will have doubled its revenues in the space of just four years, having recorded sales of €126 million in 2021. BWG Foodservice’s growth is underpinned by a strong performance across its core categories, a reflection of its leadership in areas like sophisticated menu solutions and eco-friendly sustainability packaging and disposable ranges.

Looking at predicted trends across the food sector, BWG Foodservice is forecasting another major shift towards healthy eating, as demonstrated by a major upsurge in the consumption of Açaí products. In response, BWG Foodservice has introduced a new Açaí offering through an exciting exclusive partnership with Sambazon where all products are ethically sourced and hand-harvested by local farmers, as well as certified organic and Fair Trade Açaí.

Commenting, Ricky O’Brien, Foodservice Director, BWG Foods said, “We continue to see very strong momentum across our nationwide foodservice business, driven primarily by our focus on delivering food solutions that enhance the competitiveness of our customers, both in terms of quality and value. The business has benefitted from an accelerated growth trajectory fuelled by its ability to leverage the power and resources of the broader BWG platform, making it one of the highest performing foodservice operators over the last number of years.”

Commenting on the various headwinds facing the food and hospitality industry, marked by the many recent business closures across the country, Ricky O’Brien added.

“The sector has faced a multitude of pressures threatening the viability of many of its businesses however we remain hopeful that the Government will act sooner than anticipated in relation to its VAT reduction commitments as this will have a positive impact in supporting the sector, which plays a critical role in the economic and social fabric of this country”.

BWG Foodservice serves the island of Ireland from three strategically placed state-of-the-art depots in Dublin, Cork and Galway, supported by 22 Value Centres across the country. It delivers innovative food solutions spanning +15,000 products to over 20,000 caterers, hotels, clubs, restaurants, institutions, hospitals, fast food outlets, retailers and publicans.
